LEAD CLIMBING
What is Lead Climbing?
Lead Climbing is an advanced style of climbing where a climber will ascend the wall with a rope and clip the rope into protection points as they advance up the wall. The climber is often called the leader since this method is used to ascend large rock faces with a single rope. Lead climbing is sometimes called sport climbing in an indoor setting since the points of protection (called quickdraws) are already affixed to the wall.
